Pues nada, esto está hecho chavales, ya tenemos un único firmware funcional en todos los HG556a.
Gracias a todos los que lo habéis hecho posible y en especial a danitool por el código en el que nos hemos basado y a gmtii por su contribución a los ralink. Y gracias también a todos los que habéis ayudado con las pruebas :D.

Por cierto, voy a esperar a que me acepten cuatro parches que tengo pendientes para enviar los parches de este router, que si no va a ser un jaleo curioso...

Algún consejo para la configuración WDS?

A ver si hago un TEST con 3 HG556a

Atheros  --- Ralink --- Ralink.

Todo esto saliendo por eth de un HG556a de VF.

Todavía tengo que ver como configurar como cliente transparente los Ralink. (sin relayd)

A mi no me funciona  :(

Solo consigo conectarme al router configurando la ip manualmente pero aun que se conecte no tengo acceso al router ni por telnet, ssh, luci ni nada. Tampoco tengo ping.

Lo he flasheado desde el bootloader, lo he vuelto a descargar y comparado los md5 por si se habia descargado mal, he repetido el proceso de flasheado 3 veces y nada.

Mi router es ralink, la mac de la pegatina es 04:C0:6F:XX:XX:XX y la del wifi es 6A:C0:6F:XX:XX:XX.

No tengo cable serial asi que no puedo dar mas información.

¿Alguna idea?

Todavía tengo que ver como configurar como cliente transparente los Ralink. (sin relayd)

Casi con toda seguridad el enlace WDS entre diferentes chipsets wifis no te va funcionar.
Yo lo he tenido funcionando (con bastante buen rendimiento) con dos hg556a, ambos con atheros.
La configuración es muy sencilla, uno lo pones como Punto de Acceso WDS y el otro como cliente WDS, mismo nombre de red, misma encriptación y clave.
Los equipos que conectes (tanto por cable, como por wifi) a los routers, quedan todos en la misma subred.

En cuanto al 'puente cliente transparente' con los Ralink, yo te aconsejo que pruebes con relayd.
Recuerda que después de instalar relayd, hay que activarlo para que se ejecute al inicio: /etc/init.d/relayd enable

Perdonad que sea tan novato en esto, pero se que algunos firm, traen algunos paquetes añadidos, como el que trae transmisions, pure-ftp... o simplemente incluir o no Luci o relayd se que se pueden descargar y agregar pero se que también pueden venir inculuidos, la verdad desconozco completamente si existe una lista de paqutes básicos que la mayoría de los firm incluyan. De todas formas reconozco que la culpa es solo mía, en cuanto tenga un rato lo descargaré y lo probaré en mi router, y ya de paso podré mirar que trae y que no.

Lleva lo básico + luci + ip6tables + kmod-usb2 + kmod-usb-ohci + kmod-usb-core + kmod-usb-storage + kmod-usb-storage-extras.

Podría ser cuestión de la mac, que no esté en la comprobación de los modelos.

También puede ser cuestión de la configuración: ¿Has flasheado el firmware guardando la configuración a través de LuCI desde el firmware de gmtii o de danitool?, ¿o lo has flasheado a través del cfe, encendiéndolo manteniendo pulsado el botón de reset?

De cualquier forma voy a quitar el panic() que bloquea los routers si no se identifica el hardware para ahorrarnos esto. Protejo los dos últimos megas de la flash para no borrar datos del wifi y fuera. Los routers que no se hayan identificado iniciarán sin wifi en el caso de ser atheros, pero iniciarán, que es lo que importa.

Bueno pues ya que tienes identificado el problema, solo me queda esperar la próxima compilación.

He actualizado los parches del SVN añadiendo soporte a la versión de "geminis_demon" (en el mismo enlace que tiene jar229 en el post principal).

Estoy compilando un nuevo firmware con los cambios. Por cierto, ¿alguien tiene alguna sugerencia de algún paquete a añadir en el firmware a parte de los que ya he comentado que están incluidos?

lo que no consigo es instalar el vfat ni siquiera el ext4 para los sistemas
de archivos
Se puede crear un firmware con ellos incluidos?
No puedo montar el pendrive
He intentado configurar samba para instalar la impresora
pero como es una canon es bastante difícil con samba
debería ser fácil pero no.

EDIT: Si estás usando el firmware del primer post, el más actualizado, debería llevar soporte para ext4 y tal...
Sobre lo de samba con impresoras ni idea, porque a parte de samba necesitas también los drivers de la impresora y eso no sé si se puede hacer con openwrt...

Con respecto a la impresora:

Entre los paquetes que instalamos al inicio, estaba el servidor de impresión. Si lo hicimios de forma correcta, ahora desde LuCi podremos verlo y configurarlo.
La ruta es LuCi/Services/p910nd - Printer Server. Marcamos enable y Bidirectional Mode.

Ahora, para añadir la impresora a un equipo con WindowsXP (con win7 o Linux es muy similar):

Inicio/Configuración/Impresoras y Faxes
Escogemos Agregar impresora. Nos saldrá el asistente, damos a siguiente.
Seleccionamos Impresora Local conectada a este equipo y desmarcamos Detectar e instalar mi impresora Plug & Play automáticamente. Damos a siguiente.
En esta nueva ventana seleccionamos Crear nuevo puerto y escogemos en el tipo de puerto Standar TCP/IP port. Siguiente.
Otra vez siguiente.
En nombre de impresora o direccion ip, ponemos la ip que hayamos asignado al router. Siguiente.
En la nueva ventana, escogemos en Tipo de dispositivo Personalizado y nos aseguramos (pinchando en configuración) que el puerto es el 9100 y que el protocolo esté marcado como sin formato (win7 indicada Raw).
Le damos a finalizar, y ahora escogemos (de entre la inmesa lista) nuestra impresora (marca y modelo).
Por último, podemos imprimir una página de prueba para comprobar el correcto funcionamento

Aquí otro hg556aAtheros_MX29LV128DB_6416f0   que no consigo que funcione con el firmware r32749 (Kernel 3.3.8).

Asumo que es un Atheros_MX29LV128DB_6416f0 porque el chip pone MX29LV128DBT2I-90Q
Usando los cfe con el método de los 20s.

Lo extraño es que el r30964 con kernel 3.0.18 me funciona perfectamente.

Aquí otro hg556aAtheros_MX29LV128DB_6416f0   que no consigo que funcione con el firmware r32749 (Kernel 3.3.8).

Asumo que es un Atheros_MX29LV128DB_6416f0 porque el chip pone MX29LV128DBT2I-90Q
Usando los cfe con el método de los 20s.

Lo extraño es que el r30964 con kernel 3.0.18 me funciona perfectamente.
