Buenas,

Aquí dejo una imagen para el ARV4518PW con Chaos Calmer, tiene lo justo para hacer ExtRoot, block mount y ext4, Luci y el resto de paquetes se tendran que instalar desde el pen que se utilice para extRoot.

Edito: No sé qué ha pasado, pero al volver a hacer el extroot ya no hay manera de que funcione.
Recuerdo que cuando lo hice la otra vez me dio un problema que conseguí solucionar, pero no lo apunté  :-[ :-[ y creo que ahora me está pasando lo mismo, sin saber cómo lo arreglé y no doy con ello ni de coña. En cuanto lo averigüe pondré la solución aquí para futuras referencias.

RE-EDITO: Ya lo he vuelto a conseguir. Por fin. Me ha costado.
He tenido que poner esta configuración en el fstab para que me funcionara (la he sacado a base de probar y probar...)

Además, he averiguado que, usando la misma tarjeta SD, en un lector de tarjetas me iba perfecto, pero en otro lector no me lo/la reconocía, funcionando este último bien en otro ordenador. Si conecto dicho lector teniendo openwrt arrancado, el router reinicia.

RE RE-EDITO: Mekkon, con tu firmware no conseguía hacer el opkg update. Me daba error de Signature check failed.
Estoy probando ahora el de medber y de momento funciona bien.

He compilado OpenWrt 15.05 para el ARV4518PW y quería compartirla con ustedes.

Detalles:
  • Sincronizada con Chaos Calmer 15.05 Final (LuCI git-15.248.30277-3836b45)
  • Compilación estándar con LuCI y paquetes por defecto a excepción de:
  •            Soporte IPv6 Desactivado
  •            He eliminado:  Debugging y el paquete swconfig
  • FPU Emulación activada
  • incluido: clave opkg correcta
  • incluido: Apoyo USB2 + Ext4 para Extroot + block-mount
  • 108 KB de espacio libre en el flash

Nota:
  • utilice preferentemente un U-Boot de 64kb

Bravísimo. Fenomenal que hayas incluído Luci en la compilación, dentro de los 4 MB de la flash. Eso facilita las cosas para los novatos.

Hola a todos,

Después de estar trasteando un tiempo con otros router vuelvo a probar con mi 7518PW.
Una pregunta rápida: queria actualizarlo a chaos chalmer pero no veo vou una imagen sysupgrade entre las que se pueden bajar de opnwrt.org. ¿Quiere decir que no se puede actualizar desde luci? Ahora tengo en el Attitude Adjustment

Si lo tengo que hacer por puerto serie ¿cual seria la imagen que tengo que bajar de las 3 que hay?

Las imágenes "factory" y "sysupgrade" son para distinguir las que son aptas para actualizar desde el firmware original del router, y las que son para actualizar desde openwrt. Este no es el caso, así que sólo hay una imagen.
La correcta es la squashfs.

Quiero decir que en este caso no hay imagen para actualizar desde el firmware original, por lo tanto no hay dos imágenes. Lo puedes hacer desde donde más gustes, pero lo más fácil es desde luci.  ;)

There are two revisions of that router (R01 and R01A). What openwrt image are you trying, and which board revision do you have? Please, doublecheck them.

thank you for your help .
as i said it worked flawlessly before for several days(with BB 14.07), and suddenly stopped responding.
i think the problem  is hardware related as i have several other grey Yacom units (arv4518) not working, in fact when i push the CPU it works but when i release it the unit stops working.
the problem of this one is different, eith pushing the cpu or not it remains the same

Maybe you have deleted the last 64k block in the flash memory that contains the wifi information, like the MAC for example.

if this is the problem, you will need to reflash the last 64K of the flash memory with the proper cal data.

i have a backup done by Brn Dumper before flashing OpenWrt the first time.
i then did from TeraTerm:

Anyway, I think it may be hardware related. Maybe cracked joints under the ic because of high temps. That explains why it works when you push it hard.
If you have a heat gun and some flux you could try a reflow. I you don't have one, you could try an oven reflow, if you don't mind risking the router.

Primero que nada, agradecer a todos los que colaboráis en éste foro compartiendo vuestras experiencias y conocimiento.  >:( >:( >:(

Ahora mi duda:

Desde las primeras foneras que no había vuelto a tocar OpenWrt, pero desde hace unos días he vuelto a trastear con con un ARV4518PW.
Tengo instalada la versión que amablemente compartió medber, funcionando con Extroot en una memoria USB de 4GB.
Por cierto, antes del Extroot había configurado la IP y alguna otra cosa y al arrancar con Extroot la configuración estaba como al principio, es decir sin los cambios que había hecho. No ha sido ningún problema volver a configurarlo, pero parece que los ficheros de configuración no se copian al USB. Repito, no es ningún problema y no es ésa mi duda.

Mi duda es: ¿Se puede actualizar a Chaos Calmer 15.05.1 desde Luci, pero actualizando sólo lo que hay en el USB?
Es decir, si voy al apartado de Actualizar Firmware y selecciono la imagen squashfs de https://downloads.openwrt.org/chaos_calmer/15.05.1/lantiq/xway/ y le doy a "Flash image", sale una advertencia que dice que no hay espacio suficiente en la flash.
¿Como tendría que hacer para actualizar lo que hay en el USB sin tocar la flash?
¿O no se puede?

Buenas,

Para actualizar la flash sin tocar el usb lo puedes hacer tal como lo tienes, el nuevo firmware se pondrá en la flash y al iniciar cogerá la configuración que tengas en el pendrive.

La imagen que hay en el repositorio oficial no cabe, he visto que hay otros routers con 4MB de flash y que sí hace una compilación automática para que les quepa desde los repositorios oficiales. Seguramente habrá alguna forma de poner las opciones en el repositorio para que se genere bien para este router, si alguien hecha un poco de luz sobre el tema y cuando tenga un poco de tiempo pruebo a cambiarlo en el repositorio oficial.

Lo que yo quería decir es si es posible actualizar SOLO lo que hay en el USB, sin tocar la flash y así no habría problema con el tamaño de la imagen.
No me lo he mirado demasiado porque no tengo mucho tiempo libre, pero en la flash sólo necesitaría el boot y alguna cosa más para poder cargar el kernel y todo lo demás desde el USB. Y luego (o ahora si es posible con lo que tenemos) aplicar las actualizaciones en el USB.

No se si ésto es posible o si se requiere que en la flash y en el USB haya el mismo kernel.

Me gustaría mirarme como funciona la actualización desde Luci o desde un escript (si encuentro tiempo). Pero si tiene que haber el mismo kernel en la flash me temo que no será posible.

No sé si es posible, que alguien me corrija si me equivoco, se ha de tener en cuenta que algunos packages son dependientes de la versión del kernel, de todas formas se puede forzar su uso aunque nos salga el warning.

Los packages que no vienen en la imagen inicial y que el usuario se instala después, se añaden a la flash en la partición JFFS2, pero si se tiene hecho extroot, se instalan en el pendrive, esto sirve también para packages que ya vienen de serie en el firmware y uno los actualiza, los actualizados se quedan en JFFS2 o el pendrive según corresponda.
