Probados con una tarjeta chipset AR5007EG y solo puedo decir que funcionan a la perfección…. Se agradece!!!!

Hola. es valido todo este protocolo para la distro backtrack 3?me refiero  que si funcionaria todo el tema de instalacion de los drivers siendo esta en una live cd. yo tengo una atheros 5007EG y con backtrack 3 con un airmon-ng start wifi0 me salen 3 opcciones (una de ellas ath1 modo monitor). Me asocio al ap y cuando le intento inyectar trafico ahi se queda de por vida (envia paquetes, o eso creo, pero no recibe ningun ARP). Solucionara esto estos drivers?   Saludos.

es la primera vez que posteo. y es precisamente para agradecer la solucion al tema de la plaquita atheros,
resulta que tengo una vaio VGN-NR320FH y recien estoy adentrandome en esto de linux..
siguiendo los pasos arriba mencionados funciona de diez.. varios amigos linuxeros trataron de encontrarle la vuelta a la atheros.. pero siempre con soluciones mas complicadas..
esta está fantastica, asi que muchas gracias

Buenas a todos, mi problema es que sigo todos los pasos y se me instala todo a la perfeccion pero una vez hecho esto hago un iwconfig y sigue como si nada solo me sale lo y eth0 no wireless extension.
Me dice que reinicie pero claro como arranco del cd pues creo que todo lo que instale se pierda.¿Sera por eso?
A ver si me podeis dar alguna solucion para esto.

Hola a todos! Soy un recién inciado en esto del linux (desde ayer concretamente) y cómo no, ando algo perdidillo.
Me instalé ubunto 8.04 en mi portatil, que trae la atheros ar5007eg y he intentado seguir el tutorial pero sin éxito de momento. A ver si me podéis echar una mano.
para empezar, al introducir los 2 primeros comandos:
alb@alb-laptop:~$ sudo ifconfig eth0 down
alb@alb-laptop:~$ sudo ifconfig wifi0 down

me da el siguiente error:

mientras se obtenían las banderas de interfaz: No existe el dispositivo

Esto me pasa tanto si tengo activado o desactivado los divers ¿primitivos? HAL o algo así que me pone el ubuntu por defecto.

Intentando seguir con el proceso

Ahi esta el fallo, has de poner sudo make y sudo make install

Si no pones sudo no puedes compilar porque no le das derechos al sistema.

Verifica que tienes en Ubuntu instalado el paquete llamado build-essential

Para instalar -> sudo apt-get install build-essential

Perfecto! He instalado antes de nada el build-essential y luego he puesto ese Sudo que me había dejado. Con lo de ifconfig ath0 down, me seguia dando el error ese de la bandera pero el resto del proceso parece que ha ido bien.
Cuando pongo iwconfig me sale lo siguiente:

Ahora tengo otra duda, porque creo recordar que lei que cuando se ponia en modo monitor no te podías conectar a ninguna red, no?
Es decir:
pongo en modo monitor con "modprobe ath_pci" inyecto y demás y obtengo mi clave
cómo se pondría otra vez en modo "normal"???


Otra cuestión: con lo que he hecho hasta ahora, no he instalado el aircrack ni ningun programa del estilo, no????

Lo demas ya no te deberia contestar por aqui, ya que son dudas tuyas.

De todas formas, si vas a hacer auditorias wifi te recomiendo mucho mas WifiSlax, en Ubuntu se te va a hacer mas dificil todo, en cambio en Wifislax puedes ir aumentando la dificultad y tiene muchas ayudas.

Cuando instales aircrack, te viene todo incluido.

Si quieres instalar aircrack en ubuntu -> sudo apt-get install aircrack-ng

Para todo lo demas, lee por aqui manuales y demas, este hilo es para los drivers estos  ;)

¿que Atheros? depende de la numeración hay que poner unos drivers o otros.

instale wifislax 3.1 y quiero intalor los driver de mi ateros ar5007ar y estoy siguiendo los pasos de este post pero al llegar a ese comando sale lo antes mostrado

Ahora con estos comandos, nos vamos a mover a la carpeta de los drivers ya descomprimida (puede no ser exacto, pero si la habeis descomprimido en el escritorio deberia ser asi)

Vale, ahora con los scripts que incluyen los drivers vamos a preparar el terreno para compilar e instalar

pues es curioso, en Wifislax se loguea como root, con lo que no deberías tener problemas con los permisos.
