hi

#dmesg

The driver of that particular adapter may have suffered a modification

You should try on other machines

That's another thing, not all the adapters work with wash and/or reaver.  I personaly don't like that chipset.  It gave me a big headache a year ago.

@jerk66

you say that you tried with dmesg?
wtf?
dmesg is not intended to solve anything, but to provide debug information to us.
so, ¿where is the output of dmesg?

PS: this is not a wifislax/wifiway problem, but a linux kernel general issue/limitation regarding newer device ID's detection. we can't do much to solve hardware support probems, specially if you are not able to tell us what usb device ID's does your adapter use (dmesg outlput should tell)

lets clarify something:

if someone wants to add newer kernel modules, kernel patches, etc., he must be capable of getting kernel sources, adding aufs patch set in order to enable aufs for the live distros to work correctly, then configure the whole set kernel features (which takes more than an hour of work and months of studying, trial and error) and finally recompiling and repackaging the kernel and the final ISO in a wifislax compatible fashion.

bet 10:1 you won't do that. ever.

your only hope is wifislax devel team to stay on top of the wave with bleeding edge kernel patches, hardware support and features, which is what they already do :)

so... please report device ids of unsupported devices (lsusb -vv for usb devices and lspci -vvnnk for pci devices) , then wait for newer version to come. forget about altering the kernel of a live distro. if you want to install / remove kernels with the ease of just typing a command, use ubuntu and other distros for dummies
